Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Cooper is a rising 3L at the University of Colorado Law School.
Cooper joins Milgrom & Daskam as a law clerk where he will be working in the corporate and real estate practice groups. Cooper is also a research assistant, currently studying debt covenants and changes to the Main Street Lending program. Cooper practiced as a student attorney with the school’s Technology Law and Policy Clinic, where he fought for consumer protections at the FCC on behalf of the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind communities. In particular, he worked to ensure strong standards were instituted for new speech recognition captioning services and pushed the Disability Rights Office to ensure that relay service was available for all qualified applicants in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. Cooper also worked for the legal department of CSG Systems International, a Denver based payment solution and revenue management provider. In his role with CSG, Cooper advised on changing data privacy issues in different regions of the world and ensured that company intellectual property was not being infringed.
Prior to law school, Cooper received his B.A. in Political Science from Emory University in 2017. While at Emory, Cooper was the captain of the men’s swimming and diving team and helped lead the team to its first ever National Championship in 2017.
In his spare time, Cooper enjoys all types of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, snowboarding, and backpacking. He also is an avid cook and baker and loves trying new recipes (and eating them of course). When at home he spends his time listening to records and playing with his cat, Hobbes.
